12-3-: We have had and still experiencing the worst weather that I can remember since I was a lad. It has been impossible to get my vegetable plants out, although we had splendid rain before Xmas and also in January, the awful heat dried out the top moisture and made the growing conditions impossible. We have had cauliflower and cabbage plants ready for transplanting for almost 8 weeks and cannot get a go with them. Things are getting parched up completely and local conditions seem to be favourabl e for drought. |
