Harrison Maps

The origin map assumed to accompany Harrison’s original survey can no longer be found.  To fill this void G. Scurfield reconstructed the original maps which were publised in a paper –

SEVENTEENTH-CENTURY SHEFFIELD AND ITS ENVIRONS –  The Yorkshire Archeological Journal, Vol 58, 1986 p147.

For Copyright reasons I can’t publish the maps here, but I have included a sample of one of the maps, below.

  1. Hi, fascinating map. What date was this re-drawn and is it done based on actual sight of the original. Is it possible to get a larger copy or purchase a copy? I’m particularly interested in the way Sheffield Castle site is portrayed
